Safety Instructions

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR USING THE GRILL GURU!

Follow the assembly instructions to avoid damage or incorrect assembly of parts.  Activate your warranty by scanning the QR code or register your Grill Guru here.

Note: be careful when lighting charcoal, touching the outside of the kamado, or handling hot grill surfaces. Wear heat-resistant gloves such as the High Heat Gloves. Use the Grid Lifter or Grill Clipper to grab and lift hot grills. Place hot grills in a place where there can be no contact with flammable surfaces.

Never remove the interior of the kamado when it still contains hot charcoal or is hot. The ceramic and charcoal stay hot for a long time because the kamado insulates so well. Do not remove hot charcoal from the Grill Guru either.

Never move a Grill Guru while it is hot. This creates that risk of the hot charcoal can cause bodily injury or property damage if it falls.

Take care when transporting, loading or unloading the Grill Guru. The kamado is heavy and may cause bodily injury or property damage if dropped.

Do not lean on the handle, the bamboo side tables or the hinge of the Grill Guru.

When moving the Grill Guru, we recommend pulling the kamado by the hinge and not pushing it in front of you.

Note: and be careful when using the Grill Guru. Avoid injury from metal parts: be careful when handling the hinge, top cap and air slider parts to avoid injury from metal edges.

Prevent flame jets by carefully opening the lid of a lit Grill Guru a little bit before fully opening the lid. Slowly lift the lid about 5 cm up so that the air flows in slowly. Take extra care when opening a lit Grill Guru while both air controls are closed. The sudden influx of air can cause dangerously high flames. If there are high flames: close the lid and vents to control the flames.

Close the Top Cap and air slider when you finish grilling to seal off the air supply and prevent the kamado from reaching high temperatures again. Be even more careful when opening the lid while the Grill Guru has not yet cooled down completely. Then keep in mind that the inflow of fresh air may rekindle the fire.

Attention to the environment

Always keep children, pets, clothing or flammable objects away from the Grill Guru when in use. So do not allow children to open the lid or play near the Grill Guru.

Do not place the Grill Guru on an uneven surface, a slope or a place where it can be knocked over. Lock the castor wheels when the Grill Guru is in place.

Do not grill on the Grill Guru when the top cap is off the lid – the temperature will rise quickly when it is removed. In this case, do not leave the Grill Guru unattended!

Check the area around the Grill Guru regularly to make sure it has not been affected by heat transfer.

The Grill Guru should be used outdoors with adequate air circulation and never inside or near flammable objects. Always follow local laws and regulations.

The Grill Guru kamado must be placed in a Grill Guru stand or, in the case of a Solo kamado, in furniture that complies with Grill Guru's instructions. A Solo model should only be placed on a metal base or built-in table, on a sufficiently fire-resistant solid barrier such as a 5 cm thick concrete tile, metal table stand or metal table nest. For placement on a metal top in a wooden table, there must be a layer of air between metal and wooden surface due to heat conduction and burning of wood.
