Smoker kit or box

Fancy a nice smoky flavour for your dish? You can now easily add that by using a smoker kit or box. 

Fill the kit or box with your favourite smoke dust, place the kit or box in cold water for 1 to 2 hours. 

Light the kamado and wait for the coals to glow nicely. 

Place the kit or box on the coals for a stronger smoke flavour, or place it on the grill for a milder smoke flavour. 

When the kit or box is smoking, your dish can be placed on the grill.  

Close the lid of your kamado, making sure that enough oxygen can still flow into the kamado, so don't close it completely as this will create a 'sour' smoke that won’t help your recipe. Keep an eye on the temperature, of course. Smoking can even be done at a low temperature, follow your recipe for this.    

Let the smoke do its job for the desired period and.... Enjoy!  

Depending on the size of the smoker, it will be able to smoke for about half an hour to an hour.
