Rust on grill rack

Cleaning after use:
After a delicious dish, you can fire up the Grill Guru for a while (top cap and air slider open). After that, you can use a BBQ brush to easily remove the grease and food residue from the rack.

To prevent the grill from rusting, we recommend greasing it with a vegetable oil or the Grill Guru Care spray. Use an oil that can withstand high temperatures. Olive oil, for example, is not suitable for this.

Rust removal:

  • Step 1: Sand the rust off the rack with a wire brush. Any superficial rust is also easy to remove with steel wool.
  • Step 2: Wash the rack after sanding or soak it overnight in a bath of soda water. Then rinse the rack thoroughly.
  • Step 3: To prevent the grill from rusting, we recommend greasing it with a vegetable oil or the Grill Guru Care spray. Use an oil that can withstand high temperatures.
